Maoist attacks – unanswered questions

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy and Cabinet minister Rajyalaxmi narrowly escaped from the jaws of death after a landmine blast in Nellore district. Maoists once again failed to kill a former chief minister within a span of 3 years. In 2004, Nara Chandrababu Naidu escaped from Maoists landmine attack at Alipiri. We should all condemn this evil act.

But we should also think in other angle to understand the real problem. As long as our politicians think Maoist problem is a law& order one, it is difficult to control this crisis. Widening economical gap, rising corruption and lack of honest leaders making our democracy is a big illusion to poor people. So they are showing their anger by helping anti-social elements like Maoists.Courtesy: Eenadu.

Please share your opinion:

1. How Maoists are attacking Z-Category security people despite tight security?

2. Why some sections of people are helping Maoists in these attacks?

3. Why people are not reacting sharply to these attacks?

4. Why there is no sentiment for our top leaders even after attacks on their lives?

5. Why Intelligence is failing to advise in advance to prevent these acts?

6. What Maoists will achieve by killing these leaders?

7. When will they come out of their outdated ideologies?

8. Is Naxalism really a law and order problem? Or a socio-economic one?

9. Why there is a big gap between our leaders and people?

10. Can Naxalites attack former chief ministers without support from local people?

11. Why there is no sympathy on Nedurumalli and Chandrababu Naidu despite attempts on their lives by Moists?

12. When will our corrupt leaders sincerely serve our poor people?

13. Why our leaders are accumulating money for the next 10 generations?

14. Why some families are ruling some constituencies like their own kingdoms?

15. Why only 1% of funds are reaching real beneficiaries?

16. Can police save our leaders from the extremists?

In the past, when our leaders died people voluntarily fasted for several days. Now a days, no one is shedding tears despite attacks on our leaders lives. Is it time for our ambitious youth to enter into politics and save our country from these corrupt families?

Please share your opinion on Maoists and our leaders.

Call 1100 for free Agriculture information

Andhra Pradesh Government started new free information service for farmers with a toll free number 1100. This call center functions through out the day (for 24 hours). Government of Andhrapradesh made this arrangement for the convenience of farmers to guide them on various Agricultural aspects. Experts on Agriculture, Sericulture, Fishery, Animal-Husbandry and Horticulture are available to clarify farmer’s doubts. This is a free information service. The following information can be obtained:

1. What type of crop is suitable for a particular season?

2. What type of soil is it?

3. The type of fertilizer and manure is needed to make that soil more fertile.

4. The protective measures to be adopted to save the crops from various diseases, by the timely application of the various insecticides and the pesticides.

5. The latest information about the ordinary and hybrid seeds.

How to use this service:

1. Landline users can directly call-1100.

2. Mobile users: call 40—1100. It is still facing some problems.

This is a very good initiative by Andhra Government to save farmers from market rumors. It is better if they include psychologist to prevent farmers from committing suicide. Psychologist can save many farmer lives by giving proper counseling. According to latest national survey, 80% Andhra farmers are in deep debts while national average is around 60%. Government should save farmers from middle men and finance men.

Best village website in Andhra Pradesh

Karamcheduvillage.net is arguably the best village site in Andhra Pradesh. Residents of Karamchedu are marching ahead both online and offline. Except that unfortunate incident in 1985, Karamchedu village is a role model for any village in development. National Human resources minister Purandhareswari, Cine produced Ramanaidu and Famous Paediatric surgeon Nayudamma were born in this village.
Highlights of the website:

1. Village history.
2. Photo gallery.
3. Addresses of the villagers who are now living outside the village.
4. Information about famous personalities from the village.
5. Satellite maps from Google earth.

What features are missing?

1. No videos on the cultural programmes and famous visits.
2. No interviews with famous personalities.
3. Less information on the history of Karamchedu.
4. There is so much scope to develop this website.

Every village should have a website of this nature and I hope software techies will develop a cyber home for their villages. If webmasters can able to provide E-commerce facility, illiterate villagers can sell their products online.

Visit the cyber village of Karamchedu.

Why Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy should resign?

Andhra Pradesh Chief minister Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy is in big trouble. Though YSR faced criticism from opposition without much trouble in the Assembly, it is difficult to escape from legal hurdles. Affidavits submitted by Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy before 2004 assembly elections will land me in the trouble if Telugu Desam party seeks legal action.

Above document is the Affidavit with details of Immovable assets submitted by our Chief Minister to the election commision during 2004 Assembly elections.

He submitted affidavits without showing his 10 acres of land (which is recently surrendered to Govt.) As per rules, he can be prosecuted and may even put him in jail.

Some other surprises:

Cost of Jewellary of his wife: Rs. 25,25,255 ( almost 3,000 grams of gold)

His computer cost is Rs. 75,000 in 2004. What is the system configuration?

You will find many surprises if you go through the documents. Is Income tax department sleeping?

Telugu Actor Chiranjeevi into Andhra Pradesh Politics?

Andhra Pradesh politics are hot with the latest rumours about Telugu movie Megastar Chiranjeevi's political entrance. As per rumours, If Telangana is separated from Andhra Pradesh, Chiranjeevi will enter into politics with a new regional party.

Hyderabad political circles are discussing pros and cons even before his announcement. So, I am discussing here about the political fortunes of Chiranjeevi.

Megastar's Advantages :
1. Chiranjeevi is the most popular telugu cine hero and commands a huge popularity.

2. His social activities like (Blood donation and Eye donation) helped so many poor people.

3. He is a legend in his Kapu community and very popular in in some BC Communities like Balija.

4. He is a rare cine personality who little egoism and mingles well with all sections.

5. Chiranjeevi commands huge fan following in the whole state especially in the coastal belt.

6. In the politically active Godavari districts, He can get maximum seats.

7. His clean image may help for his party to get more neutral votes.

Chiranjeevi's Disadvantages :
1. There is no political vaccum in the Andhra Pradesh with Telugu Desam and Congress have permanent vote banks.

2. He is not that much popular with elders and rural people compared to youth.

3. He is not that popular in other communities compared to Kapu caste people.

4. All fans may not like him politically as caste combinations came into prominence.

5. His Cola ads and other controversies may gain prominence once he enters into politics.

6. It may be difficult for his party to get honest candidates to contest elections.

7. His political inexperience may cost him in today's dirty politics.

Please share your opinion on Chiranjeevi's political fortunes.

Karimnagar by election - Review.

Voters of Karimnagar Loksabha segment gave a clear mandate for a separate Telanganastate. Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K.Chandrasekhar Rao won the by election by a massive margin of over 2 lakhs. It sends tremors across all parties. Telangana leaders of Telugu Desam and Congress are in a dilemma whether to support the Telangana cause or go as per their high command wishes.

It also illustrated the fact that nothing works against Telangana sentiment. Congress party spent around 100 crore for Karimnagar by election. But, its candidate lost by 2 lakh votes.

People attended the Telugu Desam (TDP) road shows in large numbers but still voted for Separate state. Even beedi - skull issue failed to capture votes.
Even though TRS chief has done nothing for them, they gave him thumping majority while BJP senior leader CH.Vidyasagar Rao lost the deposit.

So, it is the time for Telugu Desam and Congress to respect the people sentiment and review their rigid stand.

As an Andhraite, my opinion is that separate Andhra State is good for us in the long term and loss in the short term.

Sainikudu failed to meet expectations

Mahesh Babu and Trisha starrer "SAINIKUDU" released all over Andhra Pradesh with great expectations.

But, it failed to meet the expectations of the audiences. Its slow pace, Unconvincing theme, lack of comedy made this movie as an average one.
Mahesh Babu's Sainikudu was released after his super hit movie "POKIRI". This combination's (Hero-Director) last movie "OKKADU" is a mega hit.
Only plus point of the movie is its technical values and art work. Songs are visual treat to watch in the theatre.
Box-Office talk is in the range of another Mahesh-Trisha movie - ATHADU.
Please share your opinion.

Umesh Chandra - Great Police officer

Umesh Chandra was undoubtedly the most inspirational police officer in the history of Andhra Pradesh police.

He was assassianated by Maoists in broad day light at SR NAGAR junction in Hyderabad in 1999. He was treated by constables as GOD.

He worked as SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE in Kadapa and Karimanagar districts.

He was a great fan of Telugu Desam founder NT Rama rao.

The outpouring of love for their favorite son and police officer, and outrage at his transfer from Kadapa district provide a spectacle unparalleled in the history of the Andhra Pradesh.

His website is a must visit for everyone to know about the great personality. Click here.

Caste based voting in Andhra Pradesh

Based on research paper prepared by K C Suri,

45% of voters felt that one should vote for one's caste members.

69.3% of reddys voted for the congress while only 21.7% supported the TDP.

Among Kammas, 51.7% voted for the Telugu Desam Party while only 31% voted for Congress Party.

The Kapus are divided between TDP and Congress. 46.9% voted for Congress and 35.7% voted for TDP.

OBCs - 52 percent for congress and 37.1 percent for telugu desam party.

SCs - 71% for congress and 17.4% fot TDP.

While 67.7% minorities voted for congress and 21.9% for TDP.

So, Congress has more consistent and traditional vote Bank than Telugu desam Party.

More number of Neutral (not caste sensitive) voters are voting for TDP. That is the reason behind Telugu Desam's 16 year rule in the last 23 years.
In Andhra Pradesh, as per political observers, Reddys and SCs vote for Congress Party while Kammas and BCs vote for Telugu Desam Party.

Most surprising aspect of this survey is that if their caste candidate contest for their rival party, they still voted for him.

Caste is shining in Andhra Pradesh. Please share your opinion on caste based politics.
